Amazon’s Alexa set to integrate Claude. It’s not only Siri getting a whole lot smarter soon; while Apple is partnering with OpenAI, Amazon is reportedly teaming up with Anthropic to use their Claude model for a new “Remarkable” version of Alexa. According to the source, Amazon tried using their own LLMs at first, but ended up turning to Claude for its faster performance. The AI-powered version will cost 5-10$/monthly while the classic version will be free to use.
Why it matters These statements are not officially confirmed by either company as of yet. But – Alexa is definitely going to need a bit of AI-help to stay competitive with the new versions of Siri and Google Assistant, so a move like this makes sense.

1X unveils NEO Beta – a humanoid robot for home use. Founded in Moss, Norway, the robotic startup 1X showed off its prototype of a new, advanced humanoid robot. The company hasn’t really revealed much more than the demo video below, but here’s some known specs:
The robot is 66 pounds (40kg) and 5.41 feet (165cm). It can carry up to 44 pounds (20kg) and has a 2-4 hour battery life.
NEO understands both natural language and physical spaces.
NEO’s movement can quickly be taken over a human operator is needed.
1X says they’re focused on working out the safety aspect before a commercial rollout. The company said it’ll test continue R&D with a few NEO units in selected homes for the remainder of the year.
Why it matters The demo looks impressive although it doesn’t reveal too much about the robots’ capabilities. Some people on Twitter speculated if the whole thing wasn’t just a dude in a suit or a robot simply controlled by a human, while other people confirmed it’s real. Commercially viable, advanced humanoid robots are rapidly becoming a reality, with Tesla’s Optimus, Figure AI’s 02 and Chinese Agibot already making notable breakthroughs.

Comparison on privacy policies between free versions of ChatGPT and Claude. Claude wins as it doesn’t train on your data by default and specify how long they keep your records or retain it and allows you to delete entire chats. Credits to Ravit Dotan, PhD on LinkedIn.
