🧙🏼 Meet BotFlix

Also: Runway's Video to Video feature

Howdy wizards,

I made something new – it’s called BotFlix, and it just launched on Product Hunt.

It’s a free site that lets you explore the coolest character bots made on character AI from different tv-series, movies, anime and things like that.

Compared to browsing directly on Character AI, the experience of BotFlix is more like browsing your favourite series on a streaming platform. But instead of finding the latest episodes, you’ll discover the best AI bots to talk to from those series.

If you want to support me, head over to Product Hunt to upvote and leave a comment.

I massively appreciate your support.

Here’s what’s brewing in AI today:

Dario’s Picks

The most important news stories in AI this week

  1. Runway’s video to video. Runway launched a new feature, so-called Video to Video, last Friday. It lets you change your videos through simple prompts or choose from preset styles. You can choose how closely you want the output to resemble the original video. One thing to note is that the max input is limited to 64mb, so it works best on short 5-10 sec clips.

Runway also published their own tutorial for how to use the new feature, including selecting an input video, creating the prompt and configuring settings.

Here’s some fascinating stuff people have made so far:

  • PS Runway also just launched an API for its video generation models. Expect more companies building AI video into their apps going forward.

  • ‎ Why it matters‎ ‎ If you’ve tried generating videos before from text, images or both, you know there’s big elements of randomness about what actually appears and how the scene progresses. Video to Video is a big leap when it comes to controlling what actually goes on throughout the scene. Far from perfect yet, but a big leap forward.

Smart Money, Smart Machines

Dubbed "the rocket fuel of AI" by Wired, this innovation is causing a stir on Wall Street. With projections hitting $80 trillion – that's 41 Amazons – the potential is huge. But here's the deal: sharp investors who are ahead of the game have the opportunity to invest in a technology poised for domination. Thanks to The Motley Fool, you can access the full story in this exclusive report.

  1. Fei-Fei Li launches World Labs. A few weeks ago I wrote about how Fei-Fei Li, known as the “godmother of AI” and her startup was valued at $1 billion… after just 4 months of existence. Already having raised $230 million, the company has now officially launched, and is aiming to develop AI with 3D perception, so-called Large World Models (LWMs).

To advance beyond the capabilities of today's models, we need spatially intelligent AI that can model the world and reason about objects, places, and interactions in 3D space and time.

  • ‎ Why it matters‎ ‎ 15 years ago, Fei-Fei Li was instrumental in developing the database ImageNet, which led to breakthroughs in computer vision. This time, investors are betting on Li and her team to achieve breakthroughs in getting AI to navigate physical spaces effectively – definitely no minor challenge!
